WE have used 2 other well known carpet cleaners for the past several years. Unfortunately, they were not able to remove a very bad wine stain on our white carpet. After
3 or 4 cleanings, we decided to purchase new carpet.. At the carpet store, I saw a card from checkmate carpet cleaning and my husband and I decided to try one
more time to see if we could save our expensive
carpet.
George and his assistant arrived and worked their
magic and hearts out for almost 8 hours.
We had company in last night and one of our guests said, how do you keep your carpet so beaugifully, it was the first thing I noticed when you opened the door.
As noted, we have had our
carpets cleaned many times through out the years. I am just now finding out that there is
a difference in carpet cleaners. George, and his crew. are carpet Doctors. They analyze what your carpet needs and do the job. All our
other cleaners did the same job with the same
cleaners regardless of
results. We also dealt
with several different people each time we had our carpets cleaned. Most were new to the job and either moved up or out by the time we called the company again.

In addition to cleaning, our bedroom carpet needed stretching to rid it of ripples that the original installer had come back to fix twice, but with only temporary success. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so impressed with their service that I felt that it was the right thing to do. Their service was great from the initial call to the appointment and follow-up. They presented a very easy-to-understand quote and described their services very well. They even taught me a thing or two about the kind of fabric used on my furniture. I was so impressed that during the service call I had them clean the rest of my chairs. This is not my first experience with these folks. We used to use another firm but my soon to be ex-wife (Thank goodness) recommended this one. (Of all the things we fought about, I admit that she was right about Checkmate Cleaners). I have two kids and my carpets and furniture are covered with stains. Yet, there's never been a stain that they couldn't get out. Before they left, they noticed that I had some other carpeting issues, such as wrinkles. They offered to repair ALL of the wrinkles throughout the house for a very reasonable rate. I can't believe it but my carpets look brand new. In fact, they look so nice that I am considering not having my floors replaced. I would recommend this company to anyone. I wish more companies knew what service really is.

In my experience I have found carpet cleaning companies to be categorized as "a dime a dozen" but in the case of Checkmate Carpet Cleaning I would have to say "Hats off to the true cleaning professionals." This is definitely a unique company with a true passion for achieving superior results and good old fashioned customer service. I am amazed at the high degree of education that the technicians have. Every angel is covered from the time I place a call to schedule my appointment up to the time the technician hands me my bill. Not a step is missed and each is executed with precision. Checkmate Carpet Cleaning is a company that works miracles. As the owner of a flooring retail store I get a lot of phone calls from customers who call me in a time of crisis wanting to know what to do to remove some stain or other topical spill from their carpet. One day a lady called and told me that she had spilled an entire gallon of BLUE paint on her new carpet in her new house. To make matters worse she shut the door and refused to look at her carpet for another week before calling me. I have lived in Vancouver for the better part of 20 years and in that time I have seen many carpet cleaning companies come and go. I have tried just about every method of cleaning possible and jumped around from several different companies, never quite finding the right one, that is until my daughter-in-law recommended Checkmate’s services to me.
She told me that the prices might be a little higher than I was used to (which they were) but that once I tried their services I wouldn’t have to go anywhere else and boy was she was right!!! Since using Checkmate Carpet Cleaning’s services, I have noticed that my carpets are actually clean and they stay clean! This is a huge difference from what I am used to. Checkmate removed the dirt and deep traffic stains that I thought would never come out. I was even been told by 2 other companies that one stain in particular was permanent and could not be removed. Checkmate performed a stain treatment on it and the stain is GONE.
It is now five years later and I wouldn't even consider switching services to anyone else.
To anyone considering using Checkmate Carpet Cleaning I would tell you: Although their prices might be a little higher than some of the other companies, their quality of work and dedication to true customer service are unbeatable. Plus, I actually save in the long run because with them I only have to clean my carpets one or two times per year whereas before I was cleaning at least every 3 or 4 months because of re-soiling from the soap and chemicals left behind.

We live in a townhome taken care of by a property management company. It turns out the company they used to clean their carpets was realllllly cheap... one month into living here, the carpet started to look really bad. Two months later the entire carpet was uniformly covered in dark brown almost black outlined spots - the carpet cleaning company had not removed all of the soap from the carpet and it was actually attracting moisture and dirt out of the air. The day before Checkmate was already scheduled to come out to clean I also spilled Spicy Korean Sauce (from Korean Chirashi) on the stairs - NASTY. It was pink and really had me worried. Checkmate came out and made my entire carpet new again - thank God! It was dirrrrrrrrrrty and now it looks great. The guy who did my carpet was awesome, said he had been with the company for years, and really took his time to get it perfect all over so I gave him a HUGE TIP, especially when the bill came back way less than I thought it was worth. They have cleaned everything from dry erase marker off our carpet to sticky coke off the chair. My son dumped a whole can of coke on the chair and Checkmate came in and cleaned ALL of it. They even left us with a bottle of something to pre-treat stains with (along with a little tutorial on how to clean different kinds of spots) in case we needed them again for something like this. Our carpets were brand new; however, our furniture had not been cleaned in years (YUCK!). What I like most about Checkmate is the responsiveness and understanding of my concerns. There was easy scheduling by phone, got a confirmation call the day before. Technician was very knowledgeable and friendly and seemed very experienced. It did cost more than I expected but I could have declined the work. The technician cleaned five rooms and two stairways. He worked hard on a bad cat spot and said he'd come back at no cost if there were continuing problems with any of the work. He worked hard all day, for 5-6 hours. Although the cost seemed at the top end, I got exactly what I paid for. The work was very well done.
