Upholstery cleaning requires intricate knowledge of materials - there are hundreds used to make different pieces of furniture. Each material must be handled and treated differently. Therefore, you can not trust your upholstery to just anyone. Many companies will reject the opportunity to service a piece of furniture for lack of training. Another common practice in the industry is to charge a high price - that way if they have to replace a sofa for the customer, they have made enough money on average to cover that risk.
Checkmate Carpet removes that risk by training first, so we know how to handle each material.
Our process includes first identfying the material, then performing a fiber ID test, a color migration test (bleeding), shrinkage tests, and manufacturer bleeding ID number tests with a full inspection. We are experts in all methods: Hot water extraction, dry cleaning and ecapsulation. We will determine which one is right for you.
Which pet damage proccess is right for you?
Always make sure your pet is potty trained, check with an expert if you have any questions.
There are three different techniques we use to rectify your pet odor situation, depending on what we feel has the highest chance of success, but they all have several things in common.
- We apply a urine stain remover and high breed enzyme.
- We hot water extract the infected area at 230 degrees (boiling water is 212 degrees).
- We apply a urine stain remover and high breed enzymes again (not available in stores, commercial use only).
In most cases those three steps resolve the issue. However, if the stain is deeper we can take additional steps to resolve the problem.
In the rare circumstance a stain can’t be cleaned from a carpet, the next best solution is a carpet repair. Carpet repairs are also good in situations where the carpet has been physically damaged, such as a pulled row, a cigarette/ fireplace burn, or a bleach spot. Carpet repairs may also be needed in pet odor situations where a pet’s fluids have soaked through to the carpet pad below the surface.
A carpet re-stretch is also considered a repair, and this is when a carpet’s coverage over time has expanded and caused wrinkles. Many carpet cleaning companies (small and large) subcontract carpet corrections out to others that have more expertise than themselves – Checkmate is not one of those as we are experts in carpet repair and do them all ourselves. There are 101+ situations that call for all kinds of repairs, and so only the true experts can handle all of these circumstances.
